My New Years Wishes: Eugene Marcus

This article originally appeared in Vol. 1 No. 2 (Feb., 1993) of the Facilitated Communication Digest, [p. 9].

My new years wishes are for all my brothers and sisters who do not speak. My wish is for a voice for each of us -- a voice quiet and loud, a voice calm and angry, a voice speaking above those who don't want to hear, and making them listen and listen with their hearts. My wish is also for myself -- my wish is for souls in heaven and souls on earth to join in one voice in praise of God and of a new world where we can all be our truest deepest selves. Speak out, brothers and sisters, speak out in any way you can, because people are listening and waiting for our words and our poems and our songs. Never feel like your words were meant for you alone -- they belong to God and to all of us. My wish for you is not mine alone -- if you look into your heart you will know it has been there all along. Thank you, friends, for listening to me and to your own hearts.
